Dr. Lawrence Ross

Professor of Urology

Dr. Ross is a native of Chicago. He received his medical degree from the University of Chicago. He did his urologic residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center. He served 2 years as Chief of Urology at the United States Public Health Service Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Ross returned to Chicago in 1972 and began practicing urology at Michael Reese Hospital. In 1984, Dr. Ross was appointed Chairman of the Department of Urology at Michael Reese Hospital. In 1989, the University of Illinois at Chicago recruited him to become the Head of the Department of Urology and served as Head until July 2006.

Dr. Ross specialty is male infertility and microsurgery. He has contributed to the research and development in areas of infertility and microsurgery. Dr. Ross has built a large clinical practice with local, national, and international referrals. He is a frequent lecturer at universities and national and international meetings. Dr. Ross was President of the American Urological Association in 2007.
