Tegarding the 46XX/46XY mosaic subject presented by Stanton C. Honig M.D.:
You could choose to examine a sperm sapmple by means of FISH chromosome
testing for ploidy status before considering ICSI. We have used this
approach at Sydney IVF. If I had to guess, I expect that the ploidy status
wouldn't be remarkably different from normal. You might wish to check that
this subject is not a mosaic and but rather a chimaera. This can be
identified by molecular genetic polymorphism studies if one assumes that
your mosaic started of life as 47,XXY embryo. You are likely to have some
informative X-chromosome polymorphisms that show three alleles in a
chimaera.
