In response to Dr. Muhterem Yalcin's inquiry concerning IUI in the presence
of sperm antibodies I suggest the following:
You may wish to consider the attached manuscript for treating your patient
with the already described conditions. This mode of treatment may yield the
highest number of live, morphologically normal sperm for performing IUI in
this case and could aid in the establishment of a pregnancy. In the text
you will see that we recommend that the patient ejaculates directly into the
TYB and allowing the sperm to mix well with the TYB media for purposes of:
1. Dilution of the ASAs, (as recommended by Dr. Fahmy) and
2. Allowing the TYB to code the sperm membrane and prevent any further
interactions to take place between the sperm cell membrane surface and the
free floating ASAs.
