In response to Dr. Muhterem Yalcin's query concerning IUI:
Based on the data provided I can not imagine that there is good prognosis
using this patient's specimen to achieve pregnancy from IUI (keeping in mind
that rare events do occur). Using density gradient centrifugation (preferred
method), and excluding issues of viscosity and agglutination, you might
anticipate recovering between 2-4 million motile spermatozoa, based on 20%
and 40% recovery, respectively. If you include the issues of agglutination
and viscosity then I would anticipate the recovery to fall below 20% and
thus yielding 1 million or less motile cells for IUI.
Good luck!
