I recently wrote a response to an inquiry that appeared on Androlog. In
that response, I used the term 'necrospermia.' Dr. Rune Eliasson was kind
enough to correct my erroneous terminology with a private e-mail
communication that I have chosen to share with Androlog members. That
communication appears below:

Dear Arnold:
I have a long time been fighting for correct terminology in andrology since
it is my belief that science requires precision in all aspects, including
terminology. I therefore reacted to your use of the word necrospermia. It
means dead semen. The word necrozoospermia means that the spermatozoa are
all dead (dead small animals in semen to translate it).
Dead spermatozoa never have a motility in the ranged from 0 to 10%, nor a
viability using eosin Y dye exclusion ranged from 55%-75%.
We do not call an immotile human being 'dead' unless proven to be dead.
The spermatozoa should be given the same chance.
I do not send this comment to the whole group and I hope that you do not
feel offended by my remark.
