The University of New Orleans and the Audubon Institute announce an Endowed
Chair for the Study of Conservation of Endangered Species The University of
New Orleans invites nominations and applications for the Freeport-McMoran,
Inc. Chair in Conservation Biology. The successful candidate will have
research experience in the conservation of terrestrial mammals or birds with
emphasis on enhancement of reproduction and the transfer of laboratory
techniques to field situations. The Freeport-McMoran, Inc. Chair in
Conservation Biology will establish a dynamic research program on
reproduction and preservation of wild species, particularly those with
endangered status. The Chair will be appointed to the faculty in the
Department of Biological Sciences at the University of New Orleans and will
participate in its teaching program and in the direction of graduate
students. Research will be conducted at the nearby Audubon Center for
Research of Endangered species (ACRES), a new state of the art research
facility. Candidates should have credentials appropriate for appointment at
the rank of Professor, but exceptional candidates at the rank of Associate
Professor will also be considered. For more information, see
