Androlog Mail:
I would be pleased if the following could be posted on Androlog, after today
my email address is as cited in the advertisement, when I leave Aarhus.
Position Available: A number of stipends are available from the University
of Aarhus, Denmark, for research leading to a Ph.D. One of the research
topics offered is a joint project with the University of Manchester, UK, on
the investigation of the ultrastructure of human sperm using X-ray
microscopy and changes that occur during capacitation. The Institute for
Ring Storage Facilities at Aarhus has one of the few transmission X-ray
microscopes in the world; this facility allows high resolution imaging of
living sperm thereby providing high resolution dynamic analysis of sperm
maturation. Facilities also exist for computer aided motion analysis,
electron and fluorescent light microscopy, and biochemical analysis of sperm
function. Stipends will be supported for 3 years by the University of
Aarhus at DK 225,912 pa (1 UK pound = 10.6 DK). Application forms may be
obtained either directly from Det Naturvidenskabelige Facultet, Aarhus
Universitet, Bygning 520-521, Ny Munkegarde, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.
Alternatively application forms and further details may be obtained from
either of the project supervisors: Dr. E Chantler, Department of Obstetrics
and Gynaecology, St. Mary's Hospital, Whitworth Park, Manchester, M13 0JH,
