Androlog Mail:
Challenges and Strategies in Assisted Reproductive Technology: An
ART Workshop, Cozumel, Mexico
February 21-27, 1999
Cozumel is a very special place, and this is a very special meeting.
Described as one of the best scuba diving environments in the world,
Cozumel offers a fantastic location for a casual and informal, yet
in-depth and timely, discussion of some of the many challenges that
face reproductive biologists and endocrinologists today.
"Challenges and Strategies in Assisted Reproductive Technology: An
ART Workshop" will provide ART laboratory technologists, physicians,
reproductive biologists, and allied health professionals an
opportunity to learn what these challenges are now, what they will
be in the near future, and discuss how to best deal with them. An
internationally recognized faculty will lead these discussions and
will share their knowledge and strategies for overcoming problems
that occur in the ART clinic and laboratory. Half-day sessions will
be devoted to ART challenges and strategies, while the remainder of
the day will be spent above and below the water, enjoying the
splendor of Cozumel's blue sky, white sand beaches and over 100 feet
underwater visibility. Although extracurricular activities will be
planned around scuba diving and snorkeling, activities for the
entire family are abundant, which makes this meeting a very special
combination of business and pleasure. Continuing Education Units
(CAUS.) will be available. Topics to be covered include:
"The Role of the Andrology Laboratory in MEAS, TESA and Other
Treatments of Male Infertility " - Grace Centola, Ph.D.
"Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of Severe Male Factor
Infertility" - Eric Seaman, M.D.
"How to Prepare the ART Lab for Inspection" - Brooks Keel, Ph.D.
"How to QC and Troubleshoot the ART Laboratories" - Tammie Schalue,
Ph.D.
"Uterine Pathology" - Thomas Kluzak, M.D.
"How to Manage the Difficult and Low Responder" - Daniel Stewart,
M.D.
"Culturing Embryos to Blastomere and Beyond" - Barry Behr, Ph.D.
"ART Media Composition and Effects on Embryo Culture" - Patrick
Quinn, Ph.D.
